Fixed Gear FoCo Welcome

Fixed Gear FoCo

If you have found yourself at this blog it is probably because you are interested in Fixed Gear Bicycles.  This blog is based out of Fort Collin’s, Colorado, a hip little college town in northern Colorado.  Like many college towns the trend of fixed gear bicycles has begun to pick up in Ft. Collins.  Famous for Fat Tire Beer and the “follow your folly” credo of New Belgium Brewing Company, Ft. Collins is a bicycle friendly city, with many events revolving around bicycles.  There is New Belgium’s sponsored Tour de Fat, Bike in Movies, and cycle cross races. We don’t have a velodrome but sunday races at the Colorado State University’s landmark Oval is our style of competition.

I am a student at Colorado State University and want to spread the word about Ft. Collin’s Bicycle Frenzy.  We’re movers and shakes and have brought just as much style to the Fixed Gear front as the innovators in New York, LA, and Milwaukee.  I am a bike commuter and my bike of choice is a track bike, if your from Ft. Collins you may have seen it speeding by, it’s green with yellow rims, I think it is pretty sharp and catches the eye.  I’m no pro rider but I think I have style and my city has style, and that is what this site is all about, documenting the happenings in the Ft. Collins bike world. How to get active in the Fixed Gear happenings, and just get out look good, ride and most importantly have a good time.
